Charity Focus
Norfolk people are, on the whole, generous and kind hearted and have helped charities raise thousands of pounds for good causes both at home and away.
With many of us now watching the pennies even more closely it is important that we are aware of where our support is most needed, and where better to start than with locally based charities.
There are hundreds of local charities registered with the Charity Commission ranging from those with a very small income, such as scout groups, to the larger countywide charities. Most of these need our help to continue their excellent work, whether it be by donating, by volunteering or by leaving a legacy in our will.
Personal events often draw us to support a particular type of charity but most of us have limited knowledge of what valuable work is being undertaken in our county. I will focus on locally based charities, giving you a greater understanding of how you can help make a difference to those around you.
Some suggested ways to support your chosen charity:
*Make a One-Off Donation *Make Regular Standing Order Payments *Organise Fundraising Events *Donate Raffle Prizes
*Support your Charity's events *Take Part in Challenge Events e.g. Marathons, Skydives, Bike Rides etc.
*Volunteer your time, services, skills or rooms
